Proper Sorting and Skirting | Rolling a Fleece
The way in which a fleece is rolled will differ amongst wool marketing boards, fibre co-operatives, and processors. While we dont have a rigid policy on receiving fleeces in any particular type of roll, we do request that the fleece be rolled beginning with the flesh or skin side down and the outside up. For simplification, we recommend the following:

| 1. |
Lay out the fleece on a clean, flat surface with the britch or butt side toward you, head side away from you, and flesh or skin side down, outside up. Fold the right flank inward, about two thirds the way through the fleece.
|
| 2. |
Fold the left flank, the remaining third, over the now-folded right flank so that its relatively flush.
|
| 3. |
From the butt end, roll the fleece toward the head. There is no need to tie the fleece. Several rolled fleeces can be placed in a breathable bag. Please make sure you store your bags in a cool, dry place before shipping. |
