Shearing Sheep | Shearing the Sheep (or Angora Goat)
3. Left hind leg and tail: Roll the sheep over on the right side, with its head and shoulder leaning against your legs. Gently push the wool upwards, so youre cutting against the grain and removing skin wrinkles for the first two strokes. The best way to avoid cutting the sheep is to shear perpendicular to the direction of the wrinkles. Its also important not to pull up on the wool while shearing as it pulls the skin into the blade. Remove all remaining wool on the outside left leg and hip (all the way to the backbone) while holding the flank. Clear well under the tail. Be sure your strokes follow the leg line, but turn away from the tail.
