Washing
As thoroughly clean fibre is essential to quality processing, it is crucial that we receive fibre free of wax, grease, manure, and vegetable matter (please see Proper Sorting and Skirting). Sending thoroughly clean fibre makes the process both more expedient and cost-effective for you. There is an extra per-hour charge for unskirted fleeces.
While we would prefer to wash fibre here at the mill, we will accept thoroughly-washed fibre. If we receive fibre, however, that we consider not to be clean enough, it will be washed with a mild, organic cleanser (we'll notify you beforehand). Mabou Ridge takes pride in its efforts to protect your fibre and the environment.
Washing price is based on the pre-washed weight. Please see washing instructions if you intend to do it yourself. |
